The Directors Cut Vs. Shame!

So the Academy Awards are approaching near and so are the Critics Choice Awards. As some of you know, I (Dan) actually vote for the Critics Choice Awards, and that means studios are begging for my attention.  This is the time of year I get inundated with screeners. This week we take a peek at “Shame” the story of Michael Fassbender with a sexual addiction. Carey Mulligan also is in this film as his twisted sister looking for a place to stay, and has nobody to turn to, except for her brother. There is a ton of full frontal nudity in this film, including Carey Mulligan! But, this movie has a ton of slow moments trying to show character, but it has no real entertainment value. I know I really don’t like to give my reviews away here in the blog, but if you want to see a ton of nude people, having sex, dealing with some underlying depression or sexual addiction. JUST WATCH PORN, at least those people look like they’re having a good time, and they’re not moping around and having some internal anguish on screen. But this show has some fantastic moments, so please check it out and download it below!

TDCRS vs The Muppets, Coriolanus, and Midnight in Paris

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everyone! This week we review “The Muppets,” “Coriolanus,” “Midnight in Paris,” and much more! Also we talk about the struggles of watching a movie when projector bulb dies… repeatedly. The Muppets is a pretty basic story line, they need to do another show to save their studios. First task is to bring everyone back together. Is this movie as good as any of the previous Muppet movies? We’ll let you know right here on The Directors Cut!

TDCRS vs The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1

This week we check out one of the most popular movies of 2011 The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1. If you haven’t seen any of the previous Twilight movies, we’ll get you up to speed, they’re extremely stupid. Before we subject ourselves to another crappy movie, we’re gonna let you in on a little secret. You do get to see Bella’s nipple. Yes, you actually see Kristin Stewart’s nipple in this movie. But, check out the show, we’ll let you know whether you should see Breaking Dawn 1 or not.

Immortals and The Directors Cut

This week The Directors Cut takes on the Immortals. We learned that the Immortals is not a sequel to 300. So please, do not attempt to believe the advertising. It takes place when King Herod is trying to destroy all of humanity by  releasing the Immortals from their godforsaken cell and it’s up to Theseus to save the day. That’s pretty much the story line. There’s a couple of battles here and there and Frito Pinto get’s mostly naked and claims to be a virgin. Check out the show, to see if you should go!

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas vs. The Directors Cut

This week on The Directors Cut Radio program we check out the latest installment of the Harold & Kumar saga. In this edition, Harold has to keep his father-in-law happy and decorate the family Christmas tree by 2am. Unfortunately Kumar has a hand at lighting it on fire. Together they must join forces and find a new tree and decorate it before Danny Trejo kicks his ass.

TDCRS vs In Time and Puss in Boots

This week on The Directors Cut we review the movie “In Time” a new action thriller starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. Also, we send our very own small town Arkansasian Russell Pinkston to review “Puss in Boots.”

“In Time” takes place in a futuristic world where people stop aging at the year 25 and their time clocks that are embedded in their arm start to count down for only another year left to live. This is where we see issues when the rich have more time than the poor and there is a potential “Occupation Time Share.”  Amanda Seyfried is one of the sexiest actresses in Hollywood but unfortunately, the bad makeup job of this movie makes her skin horrible and her face difficult to look at. Also we uncover this movie has the worlds deadliest drinking game! Listen to whether you should see “In Time” in theaters, wait til DVD or just completely forget about it.

DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME OR IT MAY RESULT IN PHYSICAL INJURY OR EVEN DEATH.

The “In Time Drinking Game” has only one rule: Drink every time somebody says the word “Time.”

Also on the show, we count down the top ten movies about “writers” and find ourselves getting slightly annoyed by Brian Gutierrez (the news guy).

DCRS vs The Three Musketeers and Paranormal Activity 3

This week we review The Three Musketeers and Paranormal Activity 3. Plus we have the clever idea of counting down our top 10 movies with the number 3 in the title. The Three Musketeers is the classic story with one catch, it seems like we’re focusing a little too much on the pretty boy D’Artagnan character. “Where are The Musketeers?” Was a question I kept asking myself. I really wanted to see much more from the musketeers they seemed so badass. But got me thinking, since I didn’t get to see much of The Musketeers they provided I made my own. I would absolutely want to see a really bad Disney version of the same movie staring former Mouseketeers made up of Justin, Britney and Christina with Ryan Gosling as D’Artagnan. Wouldn’t that be awesome?! I know you’d go see that? Hell we can throw in Bieber as King Louis and Selena Gomez as Queen Anne! I bet this movie would be one of the greatest movies of all time! This would make “The Room” look like a cheap piece of crap! I digress. This week we also have Russell Pinkston of Harrison, Arkansas review Paranormal Activity 3 for us. We were quite surprised about what he said. Find out all of our reviews and much more right here on The Directors Cut, The Guys’ Show About Movies!

The Directors Cut Takes on Footloose

This week we review Footloose, yes another remake of a film that was much more famous than this will ever be… but unfortunately, this one will probably make much more money than the first. Footloose is exactly like the original. With newer younger pretty people and now they have iPods and race buses instead of tractors. If you don’t know the story here’s the gist, a small town bans dancing and teenage partying because of a terrible accident that occurs. The kids fight back for their chance to dance. I bet you know how this ends… I only wished somebody said “Fuck you city, you got served.” But I’ll let you know my complete thoughts on this movie right here in the podcast. Also, we count down the top ten dance movies… and yes, Teen Wolf does make the list.

Real Steel and The Directors Cut

This week we went to review the futuristic movie about boxing robots. If you haven’t heard already, Hollywood is making a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots movie, but this one should have been it. I hear Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots is about a half human half robot boxing machine. But I really thought the idea of Real Steel was stupid in the first place as well. The only time I enjoyed robots fighting was the show “Robot Wars” that aired on the BBC. But this is a story about Hugh Jackman and his wise ass son Max. They try to deal with each other while trying to compete in the world of robot boxing. We pretty much know how the movie ends before we even see a frame. But I was quite surprised, check out why by listening to the review right here.
