The Directors Cut Vs. Wanderlust and Gone

This week we have reviewed Wanderlust and Gone. Wanderlust is the story of Jennifer Annison and Paul Rudd down on their New York lifestyle luck and find themselves joining a hippy commune. They have a difficult time deciding whether to adapt to their new lifestyle or look at it as a temporary condition. Because there were a hint of nudity in the trailer, but very little quality nudity in the movie, we decided our top ten list is top ten movies that should be should be naked. Also during the show Sean Gandert gives us a elitist corner pick of the week that is almost prophetic in nature.

The Directors Cut Vs. The Grey and Albert Nobbs

This week Kristin and Dan review “The Grey” and “Albert Nobbs” while Russell was forced to see (or “seen” if you’re from Arkansas) One for the Money. He also gives us a quick update on “Man on a Ledge”. We also speak with Sean Gandert about a fantastic survival documentary. In the studio we have special guest Tom Szymanski, as part of our “How to Make a Movie” series, about the writing process. Plus, we play the game “Coming Up or Made it Up” for the chance to win Blu-rays. Our top ten list this week is Top Ten Gender Bender Movies, I also think we did this already.

“The Grey” is a survival drama starring Liam Neeson. As roughnecks are on their way home after an extended work shift their airplane loses control and crashes. Surviving the crash was only half the problem as giant grey wolves want to have them for lunch. Do the remaining survivors make it back home? Or is this highly predictable plot and over use of pretentious imagery force us to no-longer care? Well find out on this episode of “The Directors Cut!”

The Directors Cut Vs. Underworld Awakening and Red Tails

This week on The Directors Cut Radio Show we broadcast LIVE from KIVA 1550 AM studios for the very first time. But since it’s our first week on KIVA 1550 AM we have decided to bring back some old games. We also review Underworld: Awakening and Red Tails. Our top ten list this week is top ten feuds. Plus we play Coming Up or Made it Up.
In Underworld: Awakening, when the human race has gotten wise about the existence of Vampires and Lycans they have decided to eradicate the non humans. Since this is part 4 of the Underworld series, fans know what to expect. Kate Beckinsale in very tight clothing. Which is a total score!

The Directors Cut vs. Young Adult and New Years Eve

This week The Directors Cut reviews Young Adult, and count down the Top Ten Movies about Babysitters.  Young Adult is the new movie written by Diablo Cody, an attempt to win another Academy Award since her debut with Juno. Young Adult stars Charlize Theron who plays a writer for young adult novels, and shortly after her divorce she finds out her high school boyfriend just had a baby. This jealousy of her new ex-boyfriends new baby, motivates her to go back to her high school town in hopes to win him back. Fortunately for Diablo Cody she had either the worst high school experience, or the best, since she understands the high school dynamic better than anyone else. Also, she really needs to get over her past, if it was as bad as I guess it was. Our top ten list was inspired by the new Jonah Hill movie called “The Sitter.” And no, he’s no Elizabeth Shue.
